UPDATE 1 (21 April 2020): Dual citizens may present a valid Philippine passport, Identification Certificate, or Certificate of Re-acquisition/Retention of Philippine Citizenship upon arrival in order to be exempt from the travel restrictions to the Philippines and allowed entry into the country.
The Embassy hereby informs the public that the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs has instructed all Philippine Foreign Service Posts to temporarily suspend visa issuance effective immediately, in view of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
All visa-free entry privileges for applicable nationals are also suspended, effective 22 March 2020. This suspension includes former Filipinos/balikbayans.
Foreign spouses and children of Filipino nationals are exempted from this temporary suspension.
The temporary suspension of visa issuance will deem all previously issued visas canceled, and foreigners with visas issued by Philippine Foreign Service Posts will not be allowed entry into the country starting 22 March 2020. The following are exempted from the suspension and visas issued to them will remain valid:
- Foreign Government and International Organization officials accredited to the Philippines and their dependents; and
- Foreign spouses and children of Filipino nationals.
This temporary suspension has no impact on foreign nationals that are already in the country.
These measures will be in effect until further notice.
For information and guidance of all.
