PHL Embassy expresses gratitude for assistance from Malaysian government, general public for Yolanda victims
On behalf of the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and the Filipino community in Malaysia, Philippine Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya conveyed deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Malaysian government, relief and charitable organizations and Malaysians of all walks of life for their expression of support and solidarity in the wake of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
Relief operations ongoing in Tacloban. Members of the Armed Forces, civilian volunteers, personnel of the DSWD and other government agencies are working together to ensure relief good reach those affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
In Manila, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Albert F. del Rosario, United Nations (UN) Undersecretary General and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos, and UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in the Philippines Luisa Carvalho made statements on the current humanitarian situation on the devastation wrought by Typhoon Haiyan. OCHA Representative in the Philippines presented the Typhoon Haiyan Action Plan, which calls for $301 million, to assist more than estimated 11.3 million people affected, 670,000 displaced.

Secretary of Budget and Management Florencio "Butch" Abad today lauded the decision made by the Lower House and the Senate to waive their remaining Priority Development Assistance Funds (PDAF) to augment the Calamity Fund, adding that such a move would help expand the government's resources for post-disaster operations in the wake of super typhoon Yolanda.
The Bureau of Customs joins forces with the Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and other regulatory agencies of the government to man One-Stop-Shops (OSS) for round-the-clock processing of relief goods and other aid-related equipment donated by the international community. The OSS are located at entry points in Tacloban and Cebu, as well as the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
