Travel Tax Exemption Privilege of Philippine Missionaries Assigned Abroad
The Philippine Embassy wishes to inform all Philippine missionaries assigned in Norway, Denmark and Iceland that they may avail of the exemption from paying travel tax when they return to their assignment from a visit to the Philippines.
The exemption privilege is granted under Section 2d of Presidential Decree (PD) 1183 as, provided that Philippine missionaries submit a Certificate of Employment issued by the Philippine Foreign Service Post in their country of assignment stating that they are working as missionaries in that country. The exemption is valid only for travel to their place of assignment.
Below are copies of the letter of Ms. Bienvenida M. Laroya of the Philippine Tourism Authority to the Department of Foreign Affairs conveying the latter of the travel tax exemption and PD 1183.
