Following is the invitation from Father Red Molina, co-chaplain of the Sacred Heart Filipino Chaplaincy in Oslo.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
You might have heard of the damage wrought by typhoon Ondoy last Saturday and the coming of two new typhoons that will again batter our beloved nation in the next few days. Appeals have come from some concerned individuals to respond to clamors for international help. And I personally believe it will be indifference on our part if we don't.
It is for this reason that I am appealing to you in the spirit of Christian charity and solidarity. Our nation is in dire need of assistance and I wish to take this initiative to gather all Filipinos of goodwill for a mass for all the flood victims on Friday, October 2, at 6:00 PM at St. Joseph's Chapel. We shall request the kind Bishop of Oslo, His Excellency, Bishop Bernt Eidsvig to have the proceeds dedicated to the flood victims, which we shall send through the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines or through some other venerable institution in order to avoid political color.
May I therefore expect your kind presence on Friday? Since this event was unforeseen and we have limited time left, may I also request that you spread the news around so we can gather as many Filipinos for the Mass? Please invite your non-Filipino friends who may wish to join us in prayer. You may forward this message to anyone who is interested. Thank you very much for your generous support. Let us all unite with our suffering Filipino brothers and sisters for we believe that whatsoever we do for the least of our brethren, we do unto Christ.
May God who is not outdone in generosity bless you in return.
