The Philippine Bureau of Immigration recently launched a new initiative called the “Long-Stay Visitor Visa Extension” (LSVVE) program allowing foreign visitors to stay longer in the Philippines by applying for the extension of their visitor visas by up to six months under a single transaction.
The new program allows foreign visitors to prolong their stay in the Philippines without having to frequently visit an immigration office to process documents.
Prior to the launch of the LSVVE, foreign visitors can get a maximum extension of stay of only two month each time they apply for a visa extension at the Bureau of Immigration.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) also announced the introduction of a new visa sticker that will replace the wet stamps previously used by the BI in passports of foreigners with approved applications for extension of stay. These new visa stickers will have improved security and tracking features.
