Filipino Community and the Philippine Embassy in Norway Gear up for Independence Day Celebrations

The Philippine Embassy and the Filipino community in Norway have been gearing up preparations for the 111th Independence Day Celebration this year. The annual "Barrio Fiesta" will be held at St. Hanshaugen Park on 7 June 2009 and the Independence Day Gala Night will be the highlights of this year's festivities. The celebration will start at 10:00 in the morning with the parade of Philippine costumes. Songs and dances will be presented by various Filipino organizations and the celebration will be capped by the selection of a Miss Philippine Independence 2009. Members of the Filipino community in Norway are encouraged to participate in this fun-filled celebration of Philippine Independence.
