Filcom, Diplomatic Corps Mourn Passing Away of Tita Cory
The Filipino community, as well as the diplomatic corps in Oslo, expressed their condolences to the family and friends of former President and democracy icon Corazon Aquino on hearing of her sad demise. They expressed their deep sorrow and mourning by writing in condolence books which will be sent to the Aquino family by the Philippine Embassy.
In his homily delivered during the mass for President Aquino, Father Red Molina exhorted his kababayans to follow the example of Tita Cory – being humble, unselfish and God-centered. Pastor Jojo delos Reyes of the Jesus is Lord Church had this to say of the former President , quoting Proverbs 10:7a-“The memory of the righteous will be a blessing.”
Filcom member Raul Endozo said
We will always cherish the love that our former President had shown to us. We will miss her.
Ambassadors and other diplomats flocked to the Philippine embassy at Nedre Volgate to express their sorrow and condolences to the family of Mrs. Aquino and to the Filipino nation.

a brilliant lady
and many other endearing names. Norwegian Peace Facilitator Amb. Brynildsen called Mrs. Aquino the initiator of the peace process in the Philippines.
To express their deepest sorrow, Amb. Elizabeth Buensuceso and the officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Norway, also sent messages of sympathy in the condolence book, wore yellow ribbons during the mourning period, set up a video presentation on the life and works of President Cory at the embassy and in cooperation with the Sacred Heart Filipino Chaplaincy, initiated the holding of a Requiem Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Oslo.
The Philippine Flag was flown at half mast during the ten (10)- day mourning period.
