Exhibit of collection of mixed media paintings on canvas by Filipino artist is to be held in Oslo, Norway.
In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Philippine diplomatic relations with Norway, an exhibition that will show a collection of mixed media paintings on canvas by Filipino artist Manuel D. Baldemor is to be held in Oslo, Norway.
Manuel D. Baldemor is a multi-talented Filipino artist. He is a painter, sculptor, printmaker, writer and book illustrator. He was born in 1947 at Paete, Laguna Philippines, a place renowned for woodcarvers. He has contributed more than 20 designs for reproduction on UNICEF's Christmas greeting cards. For 17 straight years, UNICEF has continuously chosen Baldemor's works, a remarkable feat considering there are many submissions from all over the world competing for the honor. His global accomplishments extend even beyond this institution.

Baldemor has held numerous one-man exhibits in museums and galleries not only in the Philippines but in cities around the world including Seoul, Beijing, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Tokyo, Cairo, Teheran, Tel-Aviv, Ankara, Cascais, Madrid, Santiago, Mainz, Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Prague, Bratislava, Vienna, Warsaw, Budapest, Moscow, Bern, Basel, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Uppsala, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Bergen, Vilnius, Tallinn, Riga, London, Edinburgh, and New York. He received 24 local and international awards and grants and has been chosen artist-in-residence in Japan, Israel, Chile, Portugal, Estonia and Switzerland. Driven by a child-like curiosity and an insatiable thirst to explore the world, Baldemor's philosophy hinges on a never-ending drive to evolve and improve. On the other side of the coin, he also focuses on quiet self-service as chairman of the anti-tuberculosis (TB) seal for postage stamp campaigns. He is also a columnist for the Manila Times.
