Announcement to OAV Voters

Qualified OAV Voters in Norway, Denmark and Iceland have now started receiving their personal copies of the Official Ballot and other election paraphernalia for the May 2010 elections directly from COMELEC. The ballots of those whose addresses could not be ascertained were sent to the Philippine Embassy in Norway (These names will be published in this website from time to time). Concerned OAV voters are requested to claim these ballots from the Embassy. Others who have not yet received theirs are requested to wait for the ballots in the mail as these are being sent by batches.

The paraphernalia include the following instructions from COMELEC, directing voters on how to cast their ballots:

POSTAL VOTING

Important: The following shall invalidate your ballot

1. The use of any envelope other than the officially prescribed envelope of the COMELEC;
2. Failure to affix your thumbmark in the ballot coupon;
3. Failure to affix your signature in the space provided in the "Official Ballot Envelope"; and
4. Mails which are post-marked received after 6:00 o' clock in the evening (Philippine time) on May 10, 2010.

Tandaan: Ang mga sumusunod ay magpapawalang-saysay ng iyong balota

1. Paggamit ng ibang sobre liban sa sobre na pinadala ng COMELEC;
2. Ang kawalan ng lagda sa "Official Ballot Envelope"; at
3. Mga balotang natanggap ng embahada o konsulado pagkatapos ng ika-6 ng gabi (oras sa Pilipinas), Mayo 10, 2010.

Instructions to Voters
(Gabay para sa mga botante)

1. Accomplish fully the ballot by writing the names of the candidates for President, Vice-President, Senators and political party/coalition participating in the party list system of representation of your choice. (Isulat sa balota ang mga pangalan ng kandidatong iboboto para sa pagka "Presidente", "Bise-Presidente", "Senators" at partido o coalition na kasali sa "party-list system".)
2. Affix your right thumbmark on the ballot coupon which is located on the lower portion of the ballot. (Ilagay ang "thumbmark" sa kupon ng balota na makikita sa ibabang bahagi ng balota.)
3. Detach the ballot coupon from the ballot and place it inside the "Official Ballot Envelope". (Tanggalin ang kupon ng balota at ilagay ito sa loob ng "Official Ballot Envelope".)
4. Fold the accomplished ballot and seal it by affixing a paper seal therein. (Itupi ang balota at isara ito sa pamamagitan ng pagdikit ng "paper seal".)
5. Place the sealed ballot inside the "Official Ballot Envelope". (Ilagay ang selyadong balota sa loob ng "Official Ballot Envelope".)
6. Write your name and affix your signature in the proper space provided in the "Official Ballot Envelope". (Isulat ang buong pangalan at lagdaan ang patlang sa "Official Ballot Envelope".)
7. Seal the "Official Ballot Envelope". (Isara ang "Official Ballot Envelope".)
8. Mail the "Official Ballot Envelope" to the embassy, consulate or foreign service establishment concerned. Mailing should be done at the soonest possible time to ensure that your ballot is received by the embassy, consulate or foreign establishment concerned on or before May 10, 2010 at 6:00 o' clock in the evening, Philippine Time. (Ipadala ang "Official Ballot Envelope" sa embahada o konsulado sa lalong madaling panahon. Siguraduhing matatanggap ito ng embahada o konsulado bago o mismong sa Mayo 10, 2010, ika-6 ng gabi, oras sa Pilipinas.)

Important:

Duly filled-up ballots should be mailed to the Philippine Embassy at P.O. Box 322 Sentrum, 0103 Oslo, Norway, starting April 10, 2010 onwards, but must reach the Embassy before the closing of polls at 1100H, 10 MAY 2010 (Oslo time).

Announcement on Voters IDs:

The COMELEC-COAV has made it clear that the lack of Voters IDs should not be a hindrance to the right of suffrage. Its is NOT MANDATORY for an overseas absentee voter to present his/her voters ID before voting at the Post. What matters is that the voter is registered or his/her name appears in the Certified List of Overseas Absentee Voters (CLOAV).
