The Philippine Embassy wishes to inform the public that it will stop issuing the Green Passport (non-machine readable) starting on 1 April 2010. Henceforth, only Machine Readable Passports (MRP) will be issued in accordance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The maroon-colored Machine Readable Passport has been made available by the embassy since July 2008 and costs the same as the green passport.
