Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage

Requirements (for all applicants)

  1. Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) obtained from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the Philippines and duly authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila
  2. Birth Certificate (BC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and duly authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila
  3. Both documents should be submitted to the Philippine Embassy in Oslo for further authentication of the CENOMAR as required by authorities in the above-mentioned countries/jurisdiction.
  4. Payment of fees for authentication

Additional Requirements

For Filipinos Contracting Marriage in Sweden

  1. Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) obtained from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the Philippines and duly authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila
  2. Birth Certificate (BC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and duly authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila
  3. Submit both documents to the Philippine Embassy in Oslo for issuance of a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage (LCCM)
  4. Payment of fees for LCCM

For Filipinos Contracting Marriage in Finland

  1. Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) obtained from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the Philippines and duly authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila
  2. Birth Certificate (BC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and duly authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila
  3. Submit both these documents to the Consular Office of Finland in Manila for legalization. For further details please check Finland's official website in the Philippines.

For citizens of Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden contracting marriage in the Philippines

  1. Birth Certificate or Extract from the Register of Birth or Extract from the Populations Register, as applicable, authenticated by the respective Foreign Ministry
  2. Marriage License or Legal Capacity to Marry before a Foreign Authority or Certificate of No Impediment to Contract Marriage, as applicable, authenticated by the respective Foreign Ministry
  3. Submit both documents to the Philippine Embassy in Oslo for authentication prior to departing for the Philippines
  4. Payment of fees for authentication
